I was recently asked to donate some art to an auction
that's gonna help the family of a storyboard artist
who's family is hitting some tough times.

And you know I'm ALWAYS up for that.

I started by roughing out something on the computer.
This is actually the clean-up of the sooper sketchy rough drawing I did
but I was dumb and trashed that one.

Just so you know...
roughing out drawings on a Cintiq
is the greatest thing in the universe.
No paper wasted,
you can copy, paste, and resize instantly.

After I got my poses down I printed the sketch out,
put it on the lightbox and drew the final with colored pencils:

Here it is all done:

I'll throw more details about the auction at ya
when I get 'em!

As previously mentioned back HERE,
the Fish Hooks crew moved into our new digs last week.

And the place rocks pretty hard.

We're still exploring the green, leafy campus,
but here's some of the stuff we've found so far:

There's lots of glass:

Stone panthers...

a life-size chess set...

And there's two commissaries...
A couple of coffee shops...
Lots of parking with a car wash inside...
etc etc etc.

This is our building:

When we got off the elevator we were greeted with these fun signs:

And I'm kinda lovin' my new office.

The only problem is my lousy new neighbor
Maxwell Atoms and his loud parties.
I'm totally calling the cops on that guy.

As an addendum to THIS POST from a couple weeks back,
I'd like to present to you,
via the secret,
heavily guarded,
unnatural disaster proof
archives of
J.J. Sedelmaier Productions
some Beavis and Butthead model sheets from the first season:

As production designer, it was my job to create
the rotations, mouth charts and model sheets.
I probably did the first versions of these
but as they went through the approval process they passed
through so many hands
that there might not be any of my drawing left.
I can't remember.
But you can definitely see my writing,
as in the BUTT-HEAD titles
(the lowercase t's and a's are a dead giveaway)

Cool seeing these again!
Thanks J.J.!

Why, it feels like less than 6 months since the Fish Hooks
crew moved off the Disney Main Lot and into the
Sonora building in Glendale, CA.
(details over HERE for those who haven't been paying attention)

That's mainly because it HAS been less than 6 months.
And now we're moving again!
This time over to the Yahoo Building in Burbank.

See, there's some new stuff starting up 'round these parts
(check 'em out over HERE!)
and those beautiful newborn babies need tender, loving care
and constant attention from the execs.

Fish Hooks?
We're in our third season and got our groove goin' on,
if you know what I'm sayin'.
So off we go.
And from what I hear, our new digs rock pretty hard.
Pictures to come.

Speaking of which, I'm a little annoyed that I packed up my office without taking any pictures of it.
All I've got is this from before I moved in:

And this, detailing my daily view of Mr. Townshend keeping my office rockin'.

All's left now are the plants!

At least we get Friday off while everything gets moved!
(note: I kinda hate days off--
they totally mess up our post production schedule!)
(plus... I like coming into work every day!)

It's kinda old news...
But you know that Fish Hooks won a BAFTA right?

as in:

The British Academy of Film and Televisions Arts.

Fish Hooks won
Best International Show.

Well, the actual awards just arrived.
Here's what one looks with creator Noah Z. Jones:

And with Executive Producer Maxwell Atoms:

Congrats Fish Hooks crew!

There's an explosion going on...

And it's even bigger than LAST TIME!

Now it's...

An expanded version of the original 3DS game,
now it's punching on the Wii:

It's exploding on the PS3

And yeah, on the XBOX, too!

From what I hear, there are a bunch of new characters
and a couple new play modes that are pretty rockin'.

And what can be more fun than calling in
Numbuh Two to clobber your opponents?

So what are you waiting for?

Get to punchin'!

The guy who was scoring my Oscar ballot
this weekend had a very special,
albeit naughty,
way of marking which categories I got right
and which ones I got wrong.
